Construction of PETNET Solutions’ new facility at Lucas Heights, Sydney, is moving ahead rapidly, with the twin cyclotrons now installed, bringing with them the promise to help increase the availability of the latest in disease diagnosis and treatment to Australians.

Many of our construction milestones have already been achieved…

July

  • Contractor mobilisation and site cleared.

August

  • Facility Licence from ARPANSA.
  • Construction commenced, with bulk earthworks and the pouring of concrete piers and foundations.

September

  • Main building slab poured.
  • Substation energized.

October

  • Vault walls constructed of the facility which complement the self shielding of the cyclotrons.
  • Core filled block walls erected.
  • Cyclotron tooling kits installed.
  • Plant room slab completed.

November

  • Installed structural steel.
  • Cyclotron vault floor slab completed and epoxy coated.
  • Site Master file submitted to TGA.

December

  • Rigging and positioning of the twin cyclotrons and the moveable shielding.
  • Roofing completed.
  • Car park completed.

…and all is well in hand for the practical completion of the building phase in February 2009.

Then the process of GMP validation starts with access to the laboratory and production areas. There are over 6 major analytical instruments to validate, and the entire manufacturing plant consisting of 8 hot boxes for production and dispensing.

We expect that the first biomarker commercial doses will be delivered in June and full production will commence in July/August 2009.
